I have an opportunity to purchase a wrecked rollback, the frame and bed are said to be fine, but the cab and front end and engine and transmission are trashed.  It''t know how long the wheelbase is on the ''s good looking.  Looks like this:

I think this would be a great chassis but I''s not long enough.  I thought you needed 176 or 184 or something wheelbase to make a rollback work.  So when it comes to 80-97 F-series trucks, what length is needed for a (let''93 rollback my company has is 102 CA but I''t this work with a rollback bed, or do they not fit the van chassis?  Looks like this, it''ve also found a number of other 92-96 or so E350 chassis with 16 or 17 foot boxes, diesels, gas, mostly automatics.

I also know I''s never let me down they are great trucks IMO the 7.3 idi is a stout motor but without the turbo they lug under heavy loads. All in all I had $10,000 in my truck and a clear title. So IMO if you can get a good working and reliable truck and not go in debt, go for it.

      I don''ll work.

I measured the rollback we have. It''m concerned it is a 17 foot bed. The CA of that truck appears to be 114 (from back of bed to axle centerline). The wheelbase seems to be about 191 inches. So even a 17 foot bed would be 2.5 feet too long for that 161 wheelbase truck, I think.

I''. Stay away from the E350, it will not work well. Payload is too light, and near impossible to get hydraulics on.

I rock a 1994 FSuperduty 7.3L PSD 19''re doing it for a project to have fun with when you want great, if you''d likely be money ahead spending a little bit more and getting something close to being driveable but maybe needing a little TLC before starting to make some money.

i have built several of those trucks. as a matter of fact i built a rollback the exact same way. it was a 1989 i used every thing from a 1996. if the frame on the rollback is not bent switch every thing from the blue on over to the rollback frame. the only difference is the bumper mounts and the fuel tanks. but with a whole truck change everything. it all bolts up the same way. check your inbox if you have any more questions.
